Small mountain town best known for shade-grown coffee and birdwatching; coffee mill tours and excellent resplendent quetzal watching. There is a great coffee shop here called Dota. They have coffee picked from the same area and their pastries are delicious! My personal favorite where the cinnamon rolls. Santa Maria de Dota is ideal for some alone time or for a escape since its not a very busy town.
